A musical ambassador since he was in short trousers, a professional DJ since his early teens, a veteran of acid house and a champion of techno, Carl Cox emits a love of his work that is dangerously infectious.
Check him when he's behind the turntables and you can't mistake his ecstatic visage, dripping with sweat as his head bobs up and down to the beat, his hands pumping the air whenever they're not manipulating the turntables, his body swaying back and forth, frequently taking to the mic to share word on the latest underground tune he's about to break. You name it, Carl's been there and done it, but he's never lost sight of the point of it: playing music, breaking tunes, spreading love and celebrating life.
Cassy Britton has meticulously fashioned her craft over the last decade, approaching her productions and DJ sets with an attention to detail and passion that is hard to surpass. Her dedication to music, twinned with her gift for reading the crowd has meant that her profile has grown to worldwide recognition amongst fans and within the industry.
Cassy does not subscribe to any one genre, she glides between house and techno. With a hint of Viennese traditionalism she continues to use vinyl, but with a contemporary, super stylish swaggery sound she creates soul and balance in her DJ sets, moulding and shaping her performance to the audience, taking them on an adventure, whether an intimate secret gig or a huge festival arena. Cassy continues her residency at Panorama Bar, and is also resident at Rex in Paris, Trouw in Amsterdam and more recently, Output Afterhours in New York City and DC10 in Ibiza.
The momentum started building in early '70s New York, when a barely 10-year-old Danny first got the feel of vinyl in his hands. Enthralled by the music of artists like The Trammps, Marvin Gaye, African Hugh Masekela, and Giorgio Moroder, he started to collect records.
Inspired, Tenaglia would soon embark on a successful career as a DJ and producer.
After over 30 years of DJing Danny still continues to tour around the world. His commitment to playing new music and incorporating it with music from his past is still a very big part of his performances. Towards the end of his sets he can often be seen on the dance floor, mingling and dancing with the same people who came to see him perform. At the moment it seems that for Danny Tenaglia, the future is only the beginning.
Five years ago, a fresh faced raver happened over a couple of DJs playing at a club night in his home town of Liverpool, this was to be David’s first taste of authentic house music at its finest. An Easter Sunday at the legendary Circus Club with Yousef and Ricardo Villalobos in control was to change the life of a young David Glass perpetually. Blown away by his first experience of this new world, David Glass knew he had finally discovered his sound.
Circus owner Yousef was still unaware of the developing synergy, ironically discovering David via his long time friend Loco Dice and Phil Weeks as they were hammering David’s huge ‘Hood Chicks’. After another release on Robsoul the penny finally dropped for Yousef. David was signed to Circus Recordings and released his immense four track ‘Lost EP’. The release brought David to the attention on Nic Fanciulli, Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Pete Tong and Carl Cox who began his 2012 Radio 1 Essential Mix with the EP’s lead track.
Carl Cox has since then been a huge supporter of David, inviting him to remix his single ‘Its Time For House Music’. In 2014’s DJ Mag, Top 100 issue, Carl went on to name David his ‘Producer of the Year’.
Guy J has established himself as one of the most sophisticated and emotive producers in electronic music of the last decade, with a body of work and a sphere of influence that belies a relatively short time in the spotlight.
Whether it be his sensual, hypnotic take on house music, his deeply textured techno or his wondrous ambient material, his work is always touched with a magic and emotion that few rival. 2012 saw Guy kick off an exciting new project with his close colleagues and friends at Bedrock: his very own imprint “Lost & Found”, a sub-label for John Digweed’s long running mothership where he’ll release music by himself and his favourite producers.
Javi Row, a nineteen year old DJ and producer from the Canary Islands, is the new star of deep and tech house and the winner of the world's biggest DJ talent competition, burn Residency 2014, which took place in Ibiza.
After the competition, where he was working and learning from the greatest names in the industry, such as Carl Cox, John Digweed, Pete Tong, Paco Osuna, Carlo Lio and Marco Bailey, the young DJ has become the main favourite for all the future festival line-ups. Not only was he the most popular among his DJ colleagues, Javi was also the resident DJ in legendary world famous clubs like: Sankeys, Privi-lege, Café Mambo and Sands.
Besides numerous singles, Javi has also credited to him name remixes for John Muir's 'Gridlock' published on John Digweed's Bedrock records. Javi is currently working on publishing his EP for Carl Cox's legendary Intec Digital label.
John has long since cemented his name in the pages of dance music history. At the apex of the international DJ'ing world he has created and maintained a level of integrity that is the benchmark for both DJs and producers globally.
His list of achievements is groundbreaking to say the least; highlights include launching Bedrock – the hugely successful record label and promotions company, touring the planet with legendary names, from David Bowie and Moby to Fatboy Slim and Carl Cox. His Transitions Radio show is now over a decade old and broadcasting to over 30 countries across the world to a weekly audience of over 12 million.
Jon has never been a follower. very much his own man and entirely his own artist, he has never been swayed by trends or fashions. preferring instead to challenge and ask questions of what’s going on around him, Jon’s output has remained unique and interesting right from the start of his career back in 1996.
Experimental at times, but always matured & versatile, he has remained a highly consistent producer & DJ across almost any strand of electronic music for the last 15 years. Jon's unique but diverse blend of sounds has won him many admirers globally. Of all his virtues as both DJ & Producer, Jon's greatest seems to be an innate understanding of what makes his audience tick and the uncanny ability to translate that into his stellar productions.
In a world where music is often limited to genre handles and buzz sounds, Mark Knight has proven a rare and wonderful breed of integral house heavyweight. With a career spanning more than a decade and a solid reputation on both the digital market and dance floors across the globe, the Grammy-nominated DJ/producer has never rested on the laurels of being one of the industry’s most respected and accomplished UK players to date.
Armed with a musical library that knows no boundaries, a consistent run of hits and chart-topping ventures alike, the success of Knight’s recording career is matched only by the credibility and integrity maintained throughout his discography to date. Heard through a spread of popular releases (‘Man With red Face,’ ‘Alright’) and high profile remixes (Basement Jaxx, Chris Malinchak), further work alongside both Faithless and Underworld has sealed a diverse musical heritage for the accomplished producer. It’s music for passion, not numbers, and its what Mark Knight does best.
Clubbing was in its infancy when Berlin-born Monika Kruse began her first residency at the Babalu bar in Munich, where she grew up. As a nine-year-old she spent her pocket money on Chaka Khan and Eurythmics records; in her twenties she worked at Chrysalis Records to fund her own record buying habit, moved back to Berlin, and played club gigs and illegal parties every weekend.
Almost 25 years later, Monika has gone further than she ever dared to hope. She criss- crosses the world igniting clubs and festivals, including getting this year off to a thrilling start with memorable gigs at Ultra Miami and Argentina and Timewarp. Wherever she plays, Monika’s unmistakable, passionate brand of dance music electrifies the crowd.
Despite becoming a household name in his early twenties, Nic has always maintained a humble and down to earth approach throughout his career. One of the last DJ to break through to international acclaim on the strength of his DJ’ing alone, Nic has since gone on to establish his own imprint, Saved Records and take the label right to the forefront of electronic music.
As a producer Nic has amassed an impressive collection of releases on prestigious labels around the world. A Grammy nominated producer, Nic has worked with artists as diverse as Underworld, Kylie Minogue, U.N.K.L.E, Loco Dice, Josh Wink and Tracey Thorn. But it is his genuine and unreserved love for the scene and bringing through new talent that has given Nic the longevity to remain at the top for so long.
A true force to be reckoned with as a DJ and producer, Nicole Moudaber’s rise through the ranks of the DJ elite has been swift, purposeful and striking.
Propelled by her flawlessly executed, sleazy, edgy house and tough, soulful techno sounds, she now sits at the very forefront of today’s techno scene.
She’s spent weeks at the top of the Beatport Techno Chart with her remix of Carl Cox’s ‘Chemistry’ on Intec, dropped killer tracks for labels including Drumcode, 8Sided Dice, Kling Klong and Waveform Recordings, while remixing the likes of Santos, Martin Eyer, Mauro Picotto, Fergie and Bart Skills. Recently starting her own label Mood Records, Nicole is always looking for new challenges and bringing her production to a whole new level, including recent collaborations with Drumcode boss Adam Beyer.
At an early age, when most kids are discovering video games and girls, German production wizard Frank Heinrich, aka Reboot, was creating tracks on the studio equipment that he purchased with his small savings. He has released classic records on labels such as Cocoon, Connaisseur, Defected, Supplement Facts, Circus, Moon Harbour, Cadenza, Deep Vibes, Cecille and many more. Reboot’s musical journey has spanned the world,
Reboot’s very own Rock N’ Beats party at the Ushuaïa Tower (Ibiza), was launched in 2013 and works to integrate classic Rock and Roll with today’s electronic music. Rock N’ Beats is a reflection of how DJs now play the role of rock bands from days gone by. 2013 also marks the beginning of Reboot’s new company, Noon Artists, for which he will serve as the principal artist. In 2014 he joined Insane at Pacha Ibiza, for a summer residency alongside artists like John Digweed, Dennis Ferrer, Tensnake, MK and many more.
Born in Uruguay, Tania has been a full time resident in Ibiza for over 10 years. She has been at the forefront of underground house music since her involvement with one of the islands most popular parties Circoloco at DC10. Through playing these parties she has gained creditable international recognition.
Tania's career began around 10 years ago, at small clubs in Palma de Mallorca, but it was upon reaching Ibiza that she began to make a name for herself. Joining the Circoloco team in 1999. Tania started her residency on the island and has been with movement ever since. She’s seen the evolution of Dc10 turn from a disused aeroplane hangar into one of the most creditable and popular club on the island. Tania who is now an integral part of the Circoloco team, she has even been nicknamed “Circolocos First Lady”
Tania's style delivers relentless, flowing rhythm in a journey into true deep, underground sounds.
Umek leaped from Slovenia’s boutique Techno scene in the mid 90s to become one of the most important Techno players in the world. He successfully captured the first era of researching and recreating the rules of the dance music in recycled loops, consumer recreation and astrodisco platforms, stamping the sound of slovenian techno on the world map of electronic music.
1605 Music Therapy, tagged as a great success, is one of the world’s fastest growing techno labels, spawning releases and new talents almost every week. Umek’s radio show “Behind The Iron Curtain” continues to grow with vigour. With all this, UMEK continues to stay focused on his primary goal – making and selecting high quality productions that stand out from the rest while bringing his sound closer to people all around the world.
Yousef is a complete force within electronic music, and has come to represent the ethos of the modern DJ. Absorbing a litany of roles, a seasoned authentic and peerless dj, a label owner, a producer & remixer, an event organiser, a mentor, all with a seemingly relentless amount of vision. His efforts are thoughtful and considered and all approached with connotation. There are few who balance musical maturity and a surge to the future so eloquently and vigorously.
Yousef brings together the seductive groove & swing of authentic house readily with the energy of techno. Whether going straight for the jugular with live a 3 deck DJing dexterity or being more deft and subtle with a considered blend. Recent back-to-back sets include house music’s finest Eats Everything, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier & Nic Fanciulli show the pedigree and reverence Yousef is among.
